Notice: The application period is now OPEN.
The Town of Salem is delighted to offer the Fall 2023 Local Government Academy. This program consists of evening workshops designed to provide residents with a comprehensive understanding of how local government operates. Our aim is to equip participants with valuable insights into the structure of town government through informative sessions and engaging tours of town facilities.
Session Dates:
- Wednesday, October 4th
- Wednesday, October 11th
- Wednesday, October 18th
- Wednesday, October 25th
- Thursday, November 2nd
- Thursday, November 9th
- Thursday, November 16th
- Thursday, November 30th
- Monday, December 4th
Each session will run for approximately 2.5 hours, starting at 6 pm. Due to limited enrollment capacity, we encourage interested individuals to register as soon as possible. Priority will be given to participants who were not selected in the previous winter session.

Unless there are serious circumstances, participants are strongly encouraged to attend every session due to the high demand for spots. Please contact Joe Devine by email or via telephone at 603-890-2107 if there are any concerns about any dates.
- Does the Salem Local Government Academy cost anything?

The program is completely free of charge.
- As a non-Salem resident, am I able to apply?

Yes, anyone over the age of 18 may apply, but preference will be given to Salem residents and business owners before other considerations.
