The Town of Salem, NH seeks a Part time (20 hours/week 7:00am-9:00am & 2:00pm-3:00pm) crossing guards to ensures the safety of pedestrians crossing rights-of-way in route to and from school property by controlling and monitoring vehicular traffic in and around school property. Effectively uses hand signals and traffic control equipment to control vehicular and pedestrian movements. Reports violations of crossing and/or school zones to the Community Affairs Officer. Reports disciplinary problems with students to appropriate school authorities. Perform other duties as assigned.
The position requires and requires accuracy, strong attention to detail, strong communication skills. The ideal candidate will be a high school graduate or equivalent with training in traffic control techniques preferred.
Starting pay is $20/hour. Pre-employment testing will include educational and criminal background checks.
