Amenities
The forest features prime wetlands, part of Hitty-Titty Brook, vernal pools with aquatic wildlife, floodplains, uplands and miles of walking trails that weave through the woods. The general public may use any open trail to:
- Walk, run, skip, ski, snowshoe, sled, push a baby carriage;
- Exercise leashed dogs; (Remove all pet waste)
- Ride a non-motorized bicycle;
- Use a wheelchair as regulated by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA);
- Ride a horse. (Remove animal waste)
Hunting & Fishing
The Town Forest is open for Hunting and Fishing according to regulations issued by the NH Fish and Game Department and the US Fish and Wildlife Service. For information on the NH Hunting, regulations, and date, please visit: https://www.eregulations.com/newhampshire/hunting/
Town Forest Rules and Activities Requiring Authorization

- Tree Tapping (Maple Tapping Setup and Guidelines – UNH Extension: https://extension.unh.edu/resource/maple-setup-and-guidelines)
- Hunting Stand – Must be marked with owner’s contact information and removed by December 31. No metallic, ceramic, or other object may be inserted into a tree.
- Activities not listed, at the discretion of the Conservation Commission
