The Energy Committee no longer meets now that the Salem Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) program has launched. This page serves as a historical archive for the Committee.
Overview
The Energy Committee is responsible for working with / guiding the Town's consultant to adopt a Community Choice Aggregation Program (i.e. Community Power) and an Electric Aggregation Plan for the Town Council and Town Meeting consideration for 2025. The Energy Committee will also assist in promoting information related to an eventual 'Program Launch' once an Electric Aggregation Plan is approved at Town Meeting and it is approved by the Public Utilities Commission. More information about the Energy Committee can be found under NH RSA 53-E.
Meetings
- WHEN? The Energy Committee will meet on an as-needed basis, primarily in late 2024 and early 2025.

The Energy Committee consists of five members with the following credentials:
- Two representatives from the Town Council; and,
- Two resident representatives, preferably with experience in the energy sector, electric utilities sector, or marketing; and,
One Town staff member representative from the Town Manager’s Office or Community Development Department
