Site Selections and Funding Allocations

The Municipal Buildings Advisory Committee (MBAC) addressed the Board of Selectmen (BOS) (now Town Council) on November 14, 2022 and later on March 23, 2023, regarding site location and funding allocation for preliminary design of a new Police Station. 

On April 10, 2023, the Town Council confirmed MBAC's recommendation to select the current site at 9 Veteran's Memorial Parkway as the site of the new Police Station. The Town Council also voted to allocate $500,000 for Preliminary Design at the April 10, 2023 meeting. Of the $500,000, $350,000 of that allocation came from American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds and the remaining $150,000 was dedicated from Public Safety Impact Fees.  

MBAC started the Designed Selection process shortly thereafter. For this, the Town put out an RFQ (#2022-046) for Architectural Services of Public Safety Buildings. The Galante Architectural Studio (TGAS) was selected by MBAC on April 12, 2023 to design the new Police Station.
