Officer Theodore Anagnos
Officer Ted Anagnos (Salem Police Department Member Number 99), at the age of 32, was run down by a suspected drug dealer fleeing police while jogging off duty in Lowell, MA, on July 31, 2001. Ted died from his injuries. Ted was a graduate of the 111th New Hampshire Police Academy in 1997 and served the Towns of Seabrook, Epping, and Fremont before coming to the Salem Police Department on July 3, 2000.
Detective James Fox
Detective James "Foxy" Fox (Salem Police Department Member Number 121) was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 2010. He underwent surgery to remove a portion of his esophagus and returned to work in June 2010 with a positive prognosis. In February 2011, he learned the cancer had returned. He fought courageously but ultimately lost his battle on March 16, 2011. Detective Fox was a 12-year veteran of law enforcement. He started his career in Rochester, NH, where he served for 6 years prior to transferring to Salem PD in 2005.
Officer Craig Waldron
Officer Craig Waldron (Salem Police Department Member Number 89) was diagnosed with cancer and later succumbed to his illness after a courageous battle that lasted over a year. He was a 21-year veteran of the department.
