Project Details
The Town of Salem completed reconstruction of the Lawrence Road Bridge over Spicket River during the 2010 construction season. Prior to replacement the existing bridge was on the NH Department of Transportation (NHDOT) "red list". The project consisted of full replacement of the existing structure with a concrete box beam structure and associated abutments. The project also involved "full box" reconstruction of the adjacent roadway including horizontal and vertical alignment adjustments, new pavement, drainage improvements, precast modular retaining wall, and guardrail replacement. The project begins just south of the Cluff Road intersection and extends south to the intersection of Williams Street. The project was largely funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) through the NHDOT Municipally Managed Bridge Program.
