Project Details

The Town of Salem completed construction of the Town Farm Road Bridge early in the 2016 construction season. Construction began late in the 2015 construction season. In order to reduce flooding concerns, the existing bridge span was doubled to 40-feet and the adjacent roadway was slightly elevated. The project consisted of full replacement of a concrete bridge deck and bridge abutments with a prestressed box beam structure. The project also involved "full box" reconstruction of the adjacent roadway including roadway and intersection realignment, new pavement, minor drainage improvements, and guardrail replacement. The project begins immediately west of the Town Farm Road and Bluff Street Extension intersection and extends east to approximately the Hawkins Glen Drive intersection.
