The water main on Brady Avenue has been experiencing water quality and flow issues more significant than in years past. We have the project listed in our Capital Improvement Plan for Fiscal Year 2027, however, due to the circumstances we would recommend moving the project up. Design was completed in 2024 through Water DBA request made on June 26, 2024.
The Town received a grant from the Department of Business and Economic Affairs (BEA) for $859,689. This grant coupled with DBA funds will allow the Town to construct the entire project from Cortland Ave to Lowell Road.
Base Bid: Construction to replace approximately 3,300 linear feet of 6-inch cast iron water main (1940) from Cortland Avenue to 73 Brady Avenue with a new 12-inch ductile iron water main. The project includes connections to existing mains, thrust support, valves, services (as applicable), and hydrants.
Bid Alternate: Construction to extend the new water main approximately 3,450 linear feet from 73 Brady Avenue to Lowell Road with a new 12-inch ductile iron water main. The project includes connections to existing mains, thrust support, valves, services (as applicable), and hydrants.
This project, once constructed, will alleviate substandard conditions or deficiencies, improve the quality of existing services, and reduce long-term operating costs.
Construction began in May 2025 and is scheduled to last into Fall 2025
